Faceoff Specialist Max Mayer leads Section 9 Division III in ground balls per game (6.1) with a .685 faceoff win rate on 184 attempts. He was named to the Section IX All-Star Second Team in 2026.
Max plays club lacrosse for Reign Lacrosse Club – Hudson Valley (#3) and trains with Greg Gurenlian — founder of Faceoff Academy.
To improve his game, Max has attended West Point Lacrosse Camp, Faceoff Academy Camp, Marist College Camp, and college prospect days. He has the ability to win cleanly at the draw or get scrappy in a scramble — and his hunger to compete is evident every time he battles for the ball.
With standout stats in just his second varsity season, Max is already outperforming players who have played lacrosse their whole lives. Newer to the game and still improving, his best lacrosse is ahead of him. With a 3.8 GPA, he is a solid student and a viable college recruit.
